Has it really been 25 years?

Liquor on McLeod has been a family owned and operated liquor store in Spruce Grove for 25 years. In that time we have been dedicated to not only our customers but our community as well and it is a great honour to continue to do so.

There are many reasons why we have been in business for so long and we would like to take the time to acknowledge the people that have made our 25 years possible.

First off, we have to mention our owners, Ted and Judy Saramaga. This is their store and you will not meet two people who are more dedicated to their customers and their community, than Judy and Ted.

They started Liquor on McLeod, on November 26, 1993 at the corner of Main Street and McLeod Avenue, where Drayden Insurance is. (228 McLeod Avenue.)

Since the very beginning, Liquor on McLeod has been a family run and operated store. This is truly down to Ted and Judy’s dedication to their staff. When you work for the Saramaga’s long enough, you kind start to feel like you’re part of the family. It’s a great testament to employers when between the 2 stores owned by Ted and Judy, there are 12 employees 5+ years, 6 employees 10+ years, 3 employees 15+ years, and one employee for 22 years!! That’s true dedication.

Of course, we would not be in the liquor store business if we didn’t have customers. We don’t want to pander, but thank you to our loyal customers that followed us from the original store to the other side of Spruce Grove in 2007.

Our customers for the past 25 years have been amazing. Without your requests and questions we wouldn’t have grown. The demand for wine, and better wine knowledge has brought us Terry and he is always open to answer your questions, requests and offers an annual tour to BC’s wine country. We also have brought in Shelly Hall, our new resident beer connoisseur. With the growth of the craft beer industry and your requests for more information, we needed an expert on beer, and we think there is no one more knowledgeable in Alberta, than Shelly.

Our Community

Since the very beginning our liquor store has also been dedicated to our community. Spruce Grove has grown in the past 25 years and Liquor on McLeod is proud to be a part of the community. Our store partners with many organizations and groups in Spruce Grove. Liquor on McLeod sponsors the Spruce Grove Saints, the Parkland Food Bank, and the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society and the Spruce Grove Public Library.
