September 2015 Beer of the Month

Dear BoTM September! There is a legend about the Original 16. Labatt were closing their brewery in Saskatoon. Only to have 16 ex-employees buy out the operation. Marvelous! Great glass too! On top of this are four more delicious brews to go with! Cheers!

Original 16 Pale Ale
Original 16 Canadian Pale Ale is brewed using only the finest, two-row Prairie barley—the best in the world—as well as five choice hop varietals and 100% Copeland malt. The result is a smooth, refreshing beer, with a real beer taste.

Original 16 Copper Ale
Brewed with the finest 100% two-row Prairie barley, including a blend of roasted black and caramel malts, and five choice hop varietals. Our special and unique double-aged process results in an unparalleled smooth and refreshing beer.

Innis & Gunn Bourbon Pale Ale
This refreshing beer is an Innis & Gunn homage to our favourite American pale ales. It’s made with classic American hops, cascade, and Amarillo, and matured over American oak infused with Bourbon. The result is a crisp lively pale ale.

Orkney Red MacGregor
Red Macgregor is a unique beer: delicate and sophisticated yet the robust cask conditioned version of this beer was the first Scottish beer to win the BIIA World Cask Beer Gold Medal.

Parallel 49 Gypsy Tears
A ruby red coloured ale with a rich caramel malt flavour and a burst of West Coast hops. Using only late hop additions and dry-hopping, the bitterness is restrained while the hop flavour and aroma are pronounced.

Deschutes Fresh Squeeze IPA
This mouthwateringly delicious IPA gets its flavor from a heavy helping of Citra and Mosaic hops. Don’t worry, no fruit was harmed in the making of this beer.
