July 2015 Beer of the Month

Dear BoTM members July, it’s officially summer so how about some new brews from a far away land? We have a great selection of Maui brewing beers! Beers from Hawaii getting very popular, so try some! Also a great little New Zealand number and a new one from North Coast brewing, a very easy drinking Pilsner. Enjoy!!

Bikini Blonde

Maui Brewing – Bikini Blonde Lager
This Munich Helles Lager brewed with floral hops and Pilsner and Munich malts. This is the closest thing to an American Lager from Maui Brewing Co., but not skimpy of flavor. Bold, smooth and refreshing!

ABV 5.1 | IBU 18

Coconut Porter
Maui Brewing – CoCoNut PorTer
The CoCoNut PorTeR is a fresh handcrafted robust Porter brewed with six varieties of malted barley, hops and hand-toasted coconut. It begins with a malty-toasted coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky feel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

ABV 6.0 | IBU 30

Maui Brewing Mana Wheat
This unfiltered, freshly handcrafted American-style Wheat infused with Maui Gold Pineapple juice. Our crisp and refreshing wheat ale is lightly hopped to allow the fruity sweetness of the pineapple to shine. The yeast stays in suspension making the ale traditionally cloudy.

ABV 5.5 | IBU 18

BigSwell IPA

Maui Brewing – Big Swell IPA
This handcrafted India Pale Ale is brewed with four different kinds of Northwestern hops and malted barley…dry-hopped to perfection. Its flavor begins smooth and malty and is followed with a big burst of hop flavor.

ABV 6.8 | IBU 82

Moa Brewing – Brewed with Vienna and Pale Wheat malts, Moa Southern Alps is hopped and dry hopped with a blend of Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops giving a strong citrus/lemon grass aroma. Add the esters from a Belgian ale yeast and coriander for spicing and you have quite some complexity in this fusion of Belgian Wit and IPA.

ABV: 6.4%

North Coast Brewing – Scrimshaw Pilsner

Named for the delicate engravings popularized by 19th century seafarers, Scrimshaw is a fresh tasting Pilsner brewed in the finest European tradition using Munich malt and Halletauer and Tettnang hops. Scrimshaw has a subtle hop character, a crisp, clean palate, and a dry finish.

ABV: 4.7%   22 IBUs
